Teaching kids about the Salah is an obligation on every parent. Letting them know that it’s not only the most important pillar of Islam, but it’s also a way that will shape their lives. It’s a way to worship, thank, and glorify Allah the Almighty. From the early age of seven you start telling your kids about the Salah. But, what people don’t realise is that kids follow examples not words. If the parents are firm and steadfast in performing their Salah, the kids will automatically follow. Let them get into practice by the age of seven. By the time they reach the age of 10, discipline them into praying it properly, with devotion and proper procedure. When the habit is developed, they will easily follow the steps.
A good way is to prepare a Salah guide for kids, with the steps of performing Wudhu, and steps of Salah, it will take approximately, three to four days, that the kids will learn it by heart. Also prepare a chart where the kids will be putting their daily Salah routine, of how many they prayed, and how many they missed. This will help them to get better in the routine by not missing any. May Allah makes us and our children one of those who never misses their prayers and those who pray with hearts filled with the love of Allah Subhan u Ta Allah. Ameen.
