It’s a big issue every day for the mothers on how to keep their 5 years old busy, well same is the case with me. 5 years old are hyper, little people who are full of energy willing to go on for the whole day. Even if they are tired or sleepy, they won’t accept that fact. Trying to find out some ways to keep them busy. Here are some exciting activities for kids aged 5 that they can enjoy at home:
1. Indoor Treasure Hunt: Create a treasure map and hide small items around the house. Give your child the map and let them go on a treasure hunt. This activity is not only interesting for a 5 year old, but also for kids of other ages.
2. Homemade Playdough: Make homemade playdough using simple ingredients like flour, salt, water, and food coloring. Let your child get creative with different shapes and things. My kids love this activity, every one shows their involvement
3. DIY Art Projects: Set up an art corner with paper, crayons, markers, colored pencils, and paints. Encourage your child to create their own masterpieces.

4. Indoor Picnic: Organize an indoor picnic with your child. Lay out a blanket, prepare some healthy snacks, and enjoy a pretend picnic in the comfort of your home.
5. Science Experiments: Conduct simple and safe science experiments at home. You can find easy experiments online that are suitable for young children on YouTube, such as making volcano eruptions with baking soda and vinegar. Remember safety first.
6. Story Time: Have a dedicated story time where you read books aloud to your child. Choose interactive books or ones with colorful illustrations to keep them engaged.
7. Sensory Play: Create sensory bins or trays filled with materials like colored rice, dried beans, or water beads. Let your child explore and play with these tactile experiences.
8. Indoor Obstacle Course: Set up a mini obstacle course while ensuring the safety of your child from the furniture using pillows, cushions, and other household items. Your child can crawl under tables, jump over obstacles, and have fun navigating through the course.
9. Puppet Show: Encourage your child to create their own puppet show using DIY puppets made from socks or paper bags. Help them put on a show and enjoy their unique storytelling skills.
10. Poem Party: Clear some space in your living room and let them express their creativity through singing their favourite poems, islamic songs or Nasheeds.
Remember to always ensure that the activities are age-appropriate and safe for your child. Hope you will find this article helpful.
