👑 Ayat al-Kursi
The Greatest Verse in the Qur'an — Verse 255
Allahu la ilaha illa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyum...
One day, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ asked his beloved Companion Ubayy ibn Ka'b رضي الله عنه: "O Abu Mundhir, do you know which verse in the Book of Allah is the greatest?"
Ubayy رضي الله عنه thought for a moment and then recited:
The Prophet ﷺ was SO pleased! He gently struck Ubayy on the chest and said with a huge smile:
Scholars also report another beautiful saying about this verse, recorded by Imam Ahmad and others:
Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه was in charge of guarding the charity food collected during Ramadan. One night, someone came and started stealing from it!
Abu Hurairah grabbed him and said: "I'm taking you to the Prophet!"
The thief begged: "Please let me go! I'm poor and have a family to feed. I promise I won't come back." Abu Hurairah felt sorry for him and let him go.
The next morning, the Prophet ﷺ asked: "What did your prisoner do last night?" Abu Hurairah explained what happened.
The Prophet ﷺ said: "He LIED to you. He will come back."
Sure enough, the thief returned the next night! This happened THREE nights in a row. On the third night, the thief said:
When Abu Hurairah told the Prophet ﷺ, the Prophet smiled and said:
✅ Before sleeping: You get a guardian angel all night, and Shaytan can't come near you!
✅ Protection from harm: It protects from evil eye, magic, jinn, and all kinds of harm
✅ It praises Allah: This verse itself glorifies Allah near His Throne constantly!
📚 Stories from Surah Al-Baqarah
Learn from the amazing stories Allah tells us!
Before humans existed, Allah told the angels: "I am going to place a representative (Khalifah) on Earth."
The angels were surprised! They said: "Will You place there one who will cause corruption and shed blood, while we glorify and praise You?"
Allah said: "Indeed, I know what you do not know."
Then Allah created Adam (AS) from clay and taught him the NAMES of all things — knowledge the angels didn't have! Allah asked the angels to tell Him the names, but they couldn't. They said: "Glory be to You! We have no knowledge except what You have taught us."
Then Allah asked Adam (AS) to tell them the names, and he did! This showed that humans have a special gift — the ability to LEARN and USE knowledge.
Allah commanded ALL the angels and Iblis (who was among them) to bow to Adam as a sign of respect. All the angels obeyed immediately — except Iblis!
Iblis refused out of PRIDE. He said: "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."
Because of his arrogance and disobedience, Iblis became Shaytan (Satan) — the cursed enemy of humans forever.
2. Pride is Dangerous: Shaytan's downfall was pride. We must always be humble.
3. Obey Allah Immediately: The angels obeyed right away. We should too!
4. Humans are Special: Allah chose us to be His representatives on Earth — what a big responsibility!
During the time of Prophet Musa (AS), a man from the Children of Israel was murdered. Nobody knew who did it!
Allah commanded them through Musa (AS): "Sacrifice a cow."
This was a simple, clear command. But instead of obeying right away, they started asking too many questions:
Every time they asked, the command became MORE specific and HARDER! Finally, Allah told them it had to be a yellow cow that was not used for work and had no blemish.
Because they made it so difficult for themselves, they had to search for a VERY rare cow, and it cost them a LOT of money!
Finally, they sacrificed the cow. Then Allah commanded them to strike the dead man with a piece of the cow. When they did, the man came back to life temporarily and revealed who killed him!
This was a MIRACLE from Allah showing His power over life and death.
2. Unnecessary Questions Make Life Harder: Their questions turned a simple command into something very difficult.
3. Allah Has Power Over Life and Death: Only Allah can bring the dead back to life!
4. Justice Will Be Served: Even when humans can't solve a crime, Allah reveals the truth.
At first, Muslims used to pray facing Jerusalem (Masjid al-Aqsa). The Prophet ﷺ wished he could pray facing the Ka'bah in Makkah instead.
One day during prayer, Allah revealed the command:
RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF PRAYER, the Prophet ﷺ and all the Muslims turned around 180 degrees to face the Ka'bah!
This was a HUGE test! Some people criticized the Muslims, saying: "Why did they change direction?"
But the true believers obeyed immediately without hesitation. This showed their complete trust in Allah and His Messenger!
2. Allah Hears Our Wishes: The Prophet wished to face the Ka'bah, and Allah granted it!
3. Don't Be Swayed by Critics: People will always criticize, but we follow Allah's commands.
4. The Ka'bah is Special: It was built by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and is the center of Muslim worship!
